About Tracy

Hello, my name is Tracy. It was about seven years ago I had come up with the idea of Heavy2Healthy. Back then, I had started a blog with the name, but didn’t go anywhere with it. Life, kinda got in the way. Now, at 53 and being the heaviest I have ever been, it is now time to get serious about my health and hopefully help others get serious and healthy along the way.

My Stats and why it’s time for change!

This past week has really been an eye-opener for me. On Monday, November 28, 2022, I decided to weigh myself. I had been living an unhealthy lifestyle for quite some time. I knew I needed to do something before it was too late. So on Monday, I grabbed the scale and weighed in at 332lbs. Yes, it was right after the Thanksgiving weekend, but this is still the heaviest I have ever been. I then had also decided to take measurements of my waist, hips and neck.

Neck :19.5 inches

Hips and Waist: 53 inches

Then while at work, there was one of those blood pressure machines, so I decided to give it a try. Here are the results

164/99

That is not very good at all. To top it off, I also have sleep apnea. I have a CPAP machine, which does help me a little. At 53 and 6’2″, I need to make some changes.

Recent Changes that got me thinking more about health!

It has been 6 months since I have smoked, but now I need to focus on eating healthy and exercising. It has been over 2 years since I have felt like I was in pretty good shape. In 2020, prior to the pandemic, I started on a program that involved the Keto diet and exercising 5 times a week. I was doing really well, and lost about 40lbs, and then the gyms closed. So then it was time to find some programs to do at home. I did them for a little while, but then I started to make excuses of why I shouldn’t workout that day. One day, became two, two days became a week, a week a month and now, here we are. Going from 317lbs to 269lb (my lowest), felt really good.

The reason.

So why am I telling you all this, because it is time to get healthy again. I kinda started this week, but had some slip ups, especially today. It has almost been a year since my father passed. He was not in the best of health. He was overweight, like maybe 350, had very poor circulation in his feet. They were so bad, his feet were purple. I think he was type II diabetic. Heart issues, and also sleep apnea. He was 74 years old when he passed away. I am only 21 years younger, and I’m not ready to go yet. So it’s time to make a change.

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!

So starting next week, Monday, December 5, 2022, will officially begin the Heavy2Healthy journey. Each Monday, Will weigh in, take measurements and photos of front, side and back and post it. Will also be posting some of my goals of my journey. I have an annual physical on March 13, 2023, and my goal is to be below 290lbs. Will try to see if I can get a cholesterol check prior to the start of the journey.

Hopefully, this will reach many people and inspire them to choose a healthy lifestyle over an unhealthy one. So you may be asking, there are many fitness programs to choose from, which one? I am going with the one that has worked for me in the past. I am planning of following the Keto Diet, and still am up in the air about a fitness program. So stay tuned on what is happening, and I may even throw in some video as well. This will be a documented journey for the seven months. Why seven months, because Will be 54 in July.

If at anytime you have any questions, comments or are starting a journey yourself, please leave a comment below. If you are starting a journey, I really hope I can be a good example and would love to hear from you and maybe even follow your journey and watch you change your life and be an inspiration to each other and others!

Stay tuned!
